CASBO Communities Forum — User Guidelines

This professional forum is available to help you solve problems, build networks and share resources. We offer this venue as a complimentary benefit to all users of casbo.org in a desire to provide you with a platform on which you can share professional ideas and network with your peers in school business.

User Expectations: Above all, users are expected to be kind, helpful and respectful. In your interactions here, please assume the best in people and try to make things better. Beyond just seeking your own solutions, you’re equally encouraged to help others — if you know the answer to someone’s question, please offer your assistance.

Moderator Assistance: If you feel a post needs moderator attention, you may report it using the “Flag” button next to any given post, which will add the post to a review queue that our moderators will monitor and address throughout the day.  If immediate action is needed, or the situation that concerns you is occurring outside a forum post, please contact us at membership@casbo.org

Actions Subject to Intervention: In the interests of keeping our forum friendly, we will moderate content and respond to requests to moderate specific content. In cases of severe violation, CASBO reserves the right to block violators from further forum participation.

Actions that may be subject to moderation or intervention include, but are not limited to:

  • Sharing or posting personal contact information (i.e., email, work, residence or website addresses; telephone numbers; or social media handles; etc.), or asking others to do the same, in order to solicit contact with users outside of this forum, no matter what the purpose is for engaging in such outside contact.
  • Posting, offering or asking for login information, even test IDs or test passwords.
  • Posting another user’s private information (job, gender, living situation, location, etc.).
  • Harassing or abusing users in any way.
  • Abusing the “Flag” link.
  • Posting in all caps.
  • Abusing “@<name>” mentions as a tool to get faster responses.
  • Seeking legal advice from, or serving as, a legal advisor.
  • Threatening lawsuits or other legal action.
  • Posting “NSFW” (not safe for work) communications. If it’s not safe for work, it’s not safe here.
  • Spamming the forum to promote your services to its users, either through new topics or by introducing an unrelated topic as a response to an existing topic.
  • Offering to pay for help or work for hire. Any post offering to pay for any service, or supply any work or service for hire, can be closed at any time.
  • Creating multiple accounts (i.e., sockpuppets). If such an account is identified, we will immediately ban it.
  • Posting temporary, unsupported, disreputable or topic-unrelated public website links.

It is CASBO’s intention that all users participate in this forum for the purposes of professional networking, sharing of work-related experiences and ideas, and getting or providing help with your daily workplace challenges and problems.
